Each year, the Motagua River system is estimated to carry around 2% of the plastic entering the world's oceans, threatening communities, marine life and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.
We believe that can change.
Our ambition is to raise US$100 million to launch one of the world's most ambitious river regeneration programmes.
Working alongside the people and Government of Guatemala, our goal is to establish a long-term stewardship model that restores the river, regenerates its surrounding ecosystems and creates a sustainable economy around its future.
This is more than restoring a river.
It is about proving that nature can recover.
That conservation can create opportunity.
And that one successful project can inspire many more around the world.
